thank you, RUMPL
For this Journey blog post we invited Orcas Island novelist Samuel W. Gailey to share why he and his family appreciate the Rumpl blanket.
Sometimes, it’s the little things in life that make your day sweeter.
Our family’s first Rumpl Blanket is a perfect example. I know that most people buy this product—also known as the original indoor-outdoor puffy blanket—because they are lightweight, durable, and come in a bunch of eye-catching colors and designs. Others are drawn to the fact that the blankets are made from 100% post-consumer recycled materials—in fact, 60 plastic water bottles make up a one-person Rumpl. The brand also is a member of 1% For The Planet.
Yeah, yeah, all that’s cool, but what I really selfishly like about Rumpl is that it’s crumb-resistant, leaf and twig-resistant, and dog hair-resistant, therefore making it easier to keep clean. Is that really a big deal? If you’re the person in your house who tackles most of the laundry, ab-so-lute-ly.
My wife, daughter and seven-pound Jack Russell, raised in southern California, claim they're cold if the temperature nudges below 70, which means on off-island trips or sitting around the campfire, they must have their wool blanket. Said blanket was a magnet for anything—and everything—that came in contact with it. Pre-Rumpl, said blanket looked like it lived through the Great Depression and constantly dragged in twigs, leaves, dirt, and dog hair into the house and car with it. It also took up a good chunk of space wherever we went. Post-Rumpl, that blanket stays home, the car is clean and everyone is warm!
And one more thing… soon Rumpl is offering officially licensed NFL Original Puffy Blankets for all 32 NFL teams, which means it's going on my X-mas list. Go Seahawks!
